My interdisciplinary background allows me to work at the interface between Earth Sciences (Paleontology) and Humanities (Prehistory-Archaeology), as shown by most of my track record in Quartile Q1 belonging to Geosciences Areas: History degree (2004, Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Tarragona) followed by a PhD degree in Prehistory at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), rewarded with Excellent Cum Laude and extraordinary departmental award (1/10/2008). The main interest during my career was poured into the fossil small mammal studies. From 1/01/2010 to 31/12/2012 I was contracted as postdoctoral researcher with the "Juan de la Cierva" Subprogram at the Institut de Paleoeocologia Humana i Evolució Social (IPHES, Tarragona). From 1/01/2013 to 31/12/2014, I was awarded with a postdoctoral contract "Marie Curie Actions-BP" at Sezione di Scienze Preistoriche e Antropologiche dell’Università degli Studi di Ferrara (Ferrara, Italy). From 1/01/2015 to 31/12/2015 I had a postdoctoral contract "Marie Curie Actions-BP" at IPHES (Tarragona).

Supported by various pre doctoral and postdoctoral stages abroad, my main research line is focused on the small mammal studies in order to reconstruct the chronology of prehistory and the environment and climate where our ancestors lived during the Quaternary in Western Europe, including Iberian Peninsula, South of France, Italy, Belgium and north Africa. In 2012, I was appointed as Head of the Palaeontology Unit at the IPHES. During the eight years following my PhD, I not only had my PhD thesis fully published (Editorial Academica Española, 2011), but also had 72 papers and 26 international and original papers as main author in SCI and peer-reviewed, first rank, high impact factor journals in the discipline published, such as J. Hum. Evol., Quat. Sci. Rev. or J. Quat. Sci. among others, with an H-index = 13 (Web of Science).

I was moreover invited in several international congresses: the XVIII th INQUA Congress (Bern, Switzerland, 2011), the European Middle Paleolithic during MIS8-MIS3 (Wolbrom, Poland, 2012), the Science & Past Congress (Zaragoza, Spain, 2013), the Society of Vertebrate Paleontologist Arvicolid Workshop (Berlin, Germany, 2014) or 1st Meeting of the Microvertebrate Working Group (Madrid, Spain, 2016).

Furhtermore, I lead several funded projects: 2011BP-A00272, HU-TAF- 3246 and BE-TAF- 5468.

I currently conduct various international collaborations with R+D centers and universities abroad: Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle (Paris, France), Università di Palermo (Italy), Università degi Studi di Ferrara (Italy), Hungarian Natural History Museum (Hungary), Université de Carthage (Tunis, Tunisia), Gibraltar Museum (United Kingdom), Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal), Centre Archéologique de la Grotte Scladina (Belgium) and Royal Belgium Institute of Natural Sciences (Belgium). Invited in scientific divulgation activities in Italy (Como and Scillato) and Spain (Tarragona and Poblet).

Academic activity: Between 2010 and 2012 and 2015, I was asked to take over the lectures of Palaeontology for the European Master of Quaternary and Prehistory (EMQP) (8 hs per year). In 2013, I was an invited Professor at the EMQP, Università degli Studi di Ferrara, Italy. I supervised various students' theses: a bachelor thesis in 2012 at the History department of the URV, three Master theses for the EMQP (years 2010, 2014 and 2015) and, currently, four financed PhD theses.

I was a member of the editorial board of the peer-reviewed Antiqua Journal (Pavia, Italy) from 2010 to 2013 and currently editorial board member of the peer-reviewed Advanced Geosciences journal (Canada) and Quaternary journal (Switzerland) and Invited Editor in 2015 of the impact factor journal Comptes Rendus Palevol for the special issue: Biochronology of the European Quaternary (2016, Vol. 15, Issue 6).

I also was an organizing member of the XX th Congresso dell’AAI (Associazione degli Antropologi Italiani, Ferrara, Italy, 2013) and of the Biochronology, biostratigraphy and paleoecology of the Quaternary of Europe Session during the XVII th UISPP International Congress (Burgos, Spain, 2014). Finally, I took part as a referee in the Marie Curie Actions call FP7-PEOPLE- 2013-IEF and Synthesis Grant (2015 and 2016), and as a reviewer in the SCI journals: Geologica Acta, Int. J. Osteoarchaeol., J. Hum. Evol., Geobios, Quat. Int., Mammal Rev., Paleogeogr. Paleoclimatol. Paleoecol., Wildl. Res., Hystrix, Quat. or Riv. Ital. Paleontol. S., among others.
