I am an archaeobotanist who is focusing on tropical past plant-based technology (covering periods as far back as prehistory) through the study of plant anatomy, phytolith and ethnobotany. I took up my BA in History of Art and Archeology at Paris1-Panthéon-Sorbonne University (Paris, 2000), Masters in Archaeology at the National Museum of Natural History (Paris, 2015) and my PhD at the University Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, 2020). I am currently a researcher associate at the Catalan Institute of Human Palaeoecology and Social Evolution.

I carried out fieldwork in Taiwan and Philippines for my PhD research on basket making. I am using a participant-observation approach to learn about the raw materials, techniques, technology, and purposes of basket making. I aim to learn how practitioners assess the properties or qualities of the materials they use, and how the materials are related to end products and uses.

My personal research concerns the study of plant physical properties and the identification of plant-based technology found in archaeological contexts.
