Information Systems in Archaeology

The Unit applies information and communication technologies to archaeological research and manages clustered computing equipment for the management and analysis of data sets. It has developed the ARCH·e System Project, a technological solution to the disadvantages affecting archaeological excavations as a result of traditional protocols. The ARCH·e System is composed of various subsystems that share the same data structure, making it possible to integrate the collection. Specializing in data recording, it adapts perfectly well to the protocols and needs of the Pleistocene archaeological excavations as well as paleontological excavations in general.
