I am an archaeobotanist, expertise on anthracology (charcoal analyses), researcher at the Catalan Institute of Human Palaeoecology and Social Evolution and associate lecturer on Prehistoryat the URV and the UOC. BA in History and Geography at the University Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, 1993), graduated on "Environement et Archéologie" (DEA) at the Université des Sciences et Techniques du Languedoc (France 1994) and PhD in History at the URV (Tarragona, 2002). I have done several research stays in China and European institutions: Institut de Paléontologie Humaine, Laboratoire Paléoenvironnements, Anthracologie et Action de l’Homme (France), Instituto Politécnico de Tomar (Portugal), Institute of Archaeology (London, GB), Institute of Social Sciences (China). Since 1991 I have participated in the research and field work in co-operation with different institutions and research centers (UdG, UB, UAB, CENIEH, UAM, Gibraltar Museum, Cardiff University, UCL, IVPP).

Research lines developed from Pleistocene and Holocene records in Europe, Caucasus and China:
- Study of fuel as an energy resource and its importance in human evolution.
- Transformation and evolution of tree cover to analyze the possible natural or anthropogenic causes.
- Anthracological taphonomy to understanding the formation processes of the charcoal assemblages.
